Voice & Talk

Talk sends a request to the agent already on that work, or starts a new one, from anywhere on your Mac. Type it or say it.

Open Talk#

  • Double-tap ⌥ in any app. It opens your Inbox when an agent is waiting, and Talk when nothing is.
  • Press / inside the onestation window.
  • Choose Talk from the onestation menu bar icon.

Prefer another shortcut? onestationSettings… (⌘,)KeyboardTalk shortcut records a new one: a double-tapped modifier or a key combination.

How Talk picks the agent#

Say what you need, for example “fix the failing test in the api repo”. onestation sends it to the agent already working in that project, or starts a new one. Like answers, a request waits two seconds so Esc can take it back.

To understand a request, onestation uses your own Claude login. Those requests go straight to Anthropic under your account; we never see them.

Dictate#

  1. Press the microphone

In Talk or in any reply box. The status reads “Listening… Esc to stop”.

  2. Allow access the first time

macOS asks for Microphone and Speech Recognition. See Permissions.

  3. Check and send

Your words land in the draft, so you can fix a word before sending. Press Esc to stop listening.

Voice privacy#

  • On your Mac by default. Speech is turned into text by Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Audio does not leave your Mac, and onestation doesn’t record or store it.
  • Language not available on-device? Voice stops and tells you. Only if you turn on Allow Apple server recognition if on-device is unavailable in onestationSettings… (⌘,)Voice may audio be sent to Apple for that language. It is off by default.
  • Only the text you send reaches your agent.

Attach your screen (optional)#

With screen context turned on, Talk lets you select a region of your screen and attaches it to the request. It needs Screen Recording. Esc cancels, and a cancelled capture sends nothing. A phone can’t capture your Mac’s screen.

Attachments#

Paste an image with ⌘ V, or attach images, text files and PDFs: up to 10 files of up to 20 MB each. onestation deletes its copies after 24 hours.
